Review time:
30-sai made Doutei dato Mahoutsukai ni Nareru Rashii
(Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!)
Source: Manga.
Genres: BL, comedy, supernatural.
Studio: Satelight.
(Known for Log Horizon, Nanbaka, Black Summoner, and various series/seasons of Macross and Aquarion.)
Personal thoughts:
As of many romances/romcoms this season.. this stood out amongst them aside being the only yaoi anime of the season.
What 's good about this we get the concept of that old phrase "If you are a virgin at the age of 30 than you will become a wizard!" In which case this series took it at heart as of Adachi became one by touch telepathy (aka reads minds through touch) and as a bonus Tsuge also gets this power.
And with this timid Adachi and stiff Tsugi find their loves ^^
Kurosawa's character we can relate on being the kind and quiet character but can't hold in the emotions with the one you'll for the longest time. Anyways this tender anime actually puts a slow story at first and slowly progress in mere time from co-workers to become friends and than more and even just mere coincidence meets between strangers aka home resident and delivery worker, like two ships sailed in this.
This took regular slow build of relationships and make a great story where not just all the blushing and drama but becoming the couple with the normal troubles and overcoming and even go to the adult things such as sleeping together (Which this series did very clean.) and progress to the final stages such as living together and marriage which this is the first anime to introduce the guy guy marrage at the end and as a open minded person I was alright with this and I don't really watch that many yaoi anime since some stories tend to be like every other series that drags it out and or is dull and boring.
This whole series was cute and wholesome from start to finish and the only negative as Nan Demo K(Nai)ves pointed out that the last episode was rushed cause this showed Adachi/Kurosawa pair starting to sleep with each other the previous ep and then went full blown in this with time skip where they live together and the ending shows them getting married and the second ship are at least might be living together which I like but I would prefer more in depth story of the progression instead of how it ended.
Anyways the story was solid and the animation was decent with a good OP & ED so no complaints other than the fact that rushed and most likely no S2 in the future T^T Anyways 7/10
Wow 😍, it was just lovely, beautiful and really sweet 🤗💕❤️!!!! I am so happy for them ☺️.
It's good that I read the manga because
Anyway, this anime was simply an amazing anime in my opinion and I really enjoyed the story, the characters and their development, and also the building of the relationship between them. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad you enjoyed the adaptation, maybe because I'm an anime-only but I was not satisfied with this ending. It was very rushed to me.
it so was but at least it got a good ending though.
I wouldn't consider this a good ending, it was a happy one but not a good one for me.
Yes it was very rushed compared to the manga.
JakuChara, CotE, thi one - it's like all the shows this season visited Procrustes and none of them managed the Theseus trick :(
Ah that's not good, I have yet to start watching the second season of JakuChara.
I still need to try and watch it period.
Agree 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can't believe we got the wedding scene in the anime. I'm sobbing so hard I love Kurodachi sm 🥹😭😭
Now go watch the live action if you haven't yet. I highly recommend it 👍
Well that was one of the most wholesome adult BL anime I have ever watched. Props to studio for keeping it clean, while still not beating around the bush about sex.
I KNEW he'd lose his super powers... it was simply an aid to help him understand a few things.
The fujoshi shipping them was the funniest thing entire season... she is all of us I guess 😂
Wonder if there'll be a season 2 for blondie and the writer?
I dont think at their current stage would need an entire season. Maybe an ova, maybe 2 episodes
I could see them doing an ova for the second couple.. guess we'll just have to wait and see if they decide to adapt the rest of their progression or leave it as is
I don't think there will, the ending felt very rushed and they already revealed that Tsige's ship has also sailed :(
MAL just gave notification of the movie... i assume whatever was left un-dealt with in anime will be resolved in movie
Man I am not satisfied with this ending, I wish they didn't rush this episode. A whole year skips, then we skip the living together to see them married?! What? I find this so unpleasant, like I'm happy for them but man I wanted to see the development, it feels like I have been spoiled or something. What a complicated feeling I'm having right now. Like yeah they got married but why this fast? It's such a disappointment to see them end something I've been really enjoying following in this manner. I guess that completely erases any chance of a second season.
Anyways, onto the episode itself, it was nice to see Adachi wake up first and realize what had happened the night before, Kurosawa wanting to sleep in more whilst cuddling was sweet. I'm glad we got confirmation pretty quickly of the state of Adachi's powers, it's kind of a pity for him to lose since we don't get to hear Kurosawa's inner thougths but their past that now. They're not needed.
It was amusing to see Kurosawa falling for Adachi's unintentional critical killer lines, I almost thought Kurosawa was going to jump on Adachi and they would be going another round, I got concerned about the drink Kurosawa left on the blood. I couldn't believe he didn't put it on a more stable surface so hopefully it was empty lol.
That whole time they were wanting to see each other and just reading their text messages I was going "JUST CALL EACH OTHER", like why are they making such a big deal about the responses? They both end at around similar times, they should be free to video call or even audio call. Well, I guess we needed some drama for the romantic "I traveled all the way here for you" but man was the solution so simple.
Fujisaki noticing all the signs before anyone was amusing, she must have had pleasant days enjoying the secret only she realized.
Still can't get over this ending though, I wish they had left it open if it was just going to be this rushed. I even considered jumping onto the manga and/or rewatching this but the disappointment I feel about this ending has given me second thoughts. I am most likely in the minority who feels this way and it sucks to feel this way.
Also I'm totally here with the same mixed feelings about that ending. I've watched all 4 today's shows' ending and didn't find A SINGLE satisfying closure but this one's on a whole different level in that regard.
Even in here younger people are a bit hesitant to talk things over on the phone, it's all text&darn shitty voice messages&round videos these days (yes, I'm sill under thirty despite how i sound lol).
Then you should watch the Japanese live action and then the Thai live action. They do better at not rushing it especially the ending
I'm less interested in watching live action.
maybe you should try read the manga, it's been a while since i read it but i think i remember they told more stories when they live together & when they met each other's family. and more about tsuge!
I was so disappointed they didn't include some moments like when Adachi gave some advices to his friend, and the very cute moment when Adachi noticed how the ring and the pj fits him perfectly and and was like, "Show me what else you got!" While Kurosawa was like, "Don't wanna!" But gave in when Adachi promised him he'll wear whatever he got hidden. Plus, I felt it would've been good had they just continue with Adachi handling the life without his magic (which I thought was a good theme throughout the story).
And unfortunately, we have an end here. I am so sad for this one, bcs it was one of the better romantic anime of this season! I CANNOT BELIEVED THEY GOT MARRIED!!! Everything moved so fast in 1 episode! I was so happy for them! This anime was so lovely that it feels so sad to see it gone! It was better than most rom coms for girls! Its sad Tsuge didn't get to tell Minato about his powers, but it was cute to see them together at the wedding, and even their boss was there! So the story was adorable and beautiful; the characters were a bit lacking, except for the main 4 boys; and the finale was the most perfect happy ending! However, there were just too many better anime this season that I sadly have to drop this a bit lower than I would like. But a great anime nonetheless!
Overall Score: 7.5/10! Sayonara and you will be missed! :)
I agree this was one of the better romances this season.
The Manga still goes on with Vol 13 to finish the story. In the Manga it all goes a bit slower.
So can we expect a 2nd season?
Welp, that ship wouldn't have sailed that smoothly in my country, at least not to the point of an official wedding since Russian legislation :) However, I am very glad for those two as well.
Is it just me or do most endings really feel a bit abrupt this season? I wanted to see more of Tsige's couple since I identify myself with him...
Same really! Nothing else happened with Tsuge and Minato
I knew it he will end up losing his power with a sore butt ahaha
Not something either will regret lol.
omg i didnt expect them to cram in the wedding too!!
A full on couple conclusion? Marriage!! What a gift. A sweet story.
Congratulations Kurosawa and Adachi. Hopefully Tsuge and Minato achieve it too.
i do not regret watching this one, it was an amazing romance, only wished they didnt rush out the final episode with them suddenly getting married, and that we could have gotten more tsuge-minato moments post confession, but oh well still a great ending.
Im so glad miss girly pop got to eat her fill at the end she saw and supported that ship from port to sea 😂
They skipped stuff from the manga straight to the wedding. I highly suggest you guys read Volume 6, Chapter 34 of the manga. That is the chapter you see Adachi lose his virginity. Read from there onwards! You guys won't regret it. You get to see more of Adachi and his new job transfer and stuff they skipped out on us... ✨
THE CUTEST!! ^u^ so SOOOO glad we're getting more stories where the BL goes the distance and we get a truly happy ending. nobody dies, no cautionary tale. just smooches and vibes <3
Nooo wayyy their marriage is recognized by Japan‘s law?!!!
Yo no homo, but this show wasnt bad, and was good for a romance. I only wish that other romance anime would learn a thing or two from this show about pacing.
Ok this was really cute, and I like it a lot, but I would be colossally pissed if I lost my magic powers lol It makes sense and all that, but I'd still be feeling down in his position. What a cute ending! We got closure and everything. This anime is a breath of fresh air in more ways than one when it comes to the BL genre looking at Sekaiichi and Junjou that still aren't complete to this day
Seemed like a bit of a power sprint to the finish, but if they were trying to get it all done in one season, that's understandable. In any case, very cute, very fluffy, and def. a good watch <3
Ahhhh finally a good ending, insert banana fish
lol fujisaki is still rooting for kurosawa and adachi (Kuroada). Adachi finally lost his powers and Tsuge just casually "hearing" about it hahaha.. maybe there might be hope for a second season? Also it seems like this has a live action too im gonna check that out !!
Great watch by the way i really liked it
YESS YESS YESS LITTLE GAY PEOPLE!!!!
Miss Fijusaki ALLY!
please tell me there's gonna be a second season😭😭
Hope fujisaki goes out with a woman so she can go on double date with Kurosawa ❤️
Kurosawa big sis was also supportive and helped their relationship and came at their wedding too😊. Wish there are more supportive siblings like her ❤️
Congratulation to KuroAda....
We now pronounce you husband and husband lol
